MM2H Guidelines
MM2H Overview
Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) is a long-term residency programme introduced by the Malaysian Government for eligible foreign nationals who wish to live in Malaysia. The programme offers a renewable Multiple Entry Social Visit Pass and is available under four categories:
- Platinum
- Gold
- Silver
- Special Economic Zone / Special Financial Zone (SEZ/SFZ)
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be from a country with diplomatic relations with Malaysia.
- Apply through a licensed MM2H operating company.
- Meet the minimum age requirement: – Platinum, Gold & Silver: 25 years and above – SEZ/SFZ: 21 years and above
- Meet the financial requirements of the selected category.
Financial Requirements

- Fixed deposits must be placed with a licensed Malaysian financial institution.
- Up to 50% of the fixed deposit may be withdrawn after approval for:
1) Purchasing a Residence
2) Education
3) Medical Expenses
4) Tourism-related Activities in Malaysia.
Required Documents
Before Approval
Applicants generally need:
- Valid Passport
- Passport Copies
- Passport-sized Photographs
- Certificate of Good Conduct / Police Clearance (18+)
- Medical Report (MM2H Form)
- Immigration Application Forms
- Fixed Deposit Certificate
- Health Insurance (where applicable)
- Medical Check-up Report
- Personal Bond Form
- Valid Passport
Application Process
- Choose TKB – a licensed MM2H agent. Sign the contract.
- Submit your application and supporting documents.
- TKB submits your application to the One Stop Centre (OSC MM2H).
- Authorities review the application.
- Receive conditional approval.
- Complete post-approval requirements:
1) Fixed Deposit
2) Medical check-up
3) Health insurance
4) Personal Bond - Pay the required government fees.
- Receive your MM2H endorsement and pass.
Timeline
After receiving conditional approval, applicants have 90 days to complete the post-approval requirements.
Visa Validity

The pass validity is also subject to the validity of the applicant’s passport.
Dependents
Eligible dependents include:
- Spouse
- Biological, step, or adopted children:
1) Under 21 years old
2) Ages 21–34 if unmarried and unemployed
3) Disabled children (no age limit) - Parents
- Parents-in-law
Platinum applicants may also bring a foreign domestic helper.
Dependent children may study in government-recognized higher education institutions in Malaysia.
Property Ownership Rules
MM2H participants are required to purchase a residential property after approval.
Additional rules:
1. Property ownership is compulsory.
2. The property cannot be sold within the first 10 years, unless upgrading to a higher-value property.
3. Failure to comply may result in revocation of the MM2H pass.
